School's out for summer!

This is the last week of school for students. But don't worry, Alachua County has a great selection of summer camps for kids:

Camps are focused on having fun while staying active. Campers at each recreation center will participate in a variety of sports (kickball, softball, track and field) as they learn good sportsmanship and compete against other city recreation centers.

Campers will participate in weekly field trips, swimming, arts and crafts, spirit activities, competitions and daily character development activities. Campers also will have multiple specialty camps to choose from each week, such as water sports, cheerleading, flag football, experiments, soccer, painting and more.

Children can choose from camp groups such as science and technology, sports, performing arts or visual arts. In addition to these specialty tracks, there are hundreds of class options, daily field trips, fitness fun and specialty camps in dance, gymnastics and cheerleading. Themed weeks are also offered and include Extreme Games, Wacky and Wild, International, Every Day's a Holiday, Create a Nation, O2B Olympics, O2B Safari, Green Machine, Hollywood and Time Travelers.

Activities include bowling, laser tag, go karts, skating, miniature golf, rock climbing, batting cages, specialty field trips and more.

Located at P.K. Yonge, this camp offers young children exciting hands-on curriculum, including outdoor activities, art, music and movement, water days and local field trips.
